Mysterious Pheonix LightA large light appears in the darkness over Phoenix, toward the northwestern edge of the city. This mysterious light that appeared as explosion was captured by a traffic camera that is posted on Interstate 17. The image was captured at 4:45a.m. and was broadcast on KSAZ-TV during a segment about the mornings report.

Both power stations near the area didn’t claim to have any transformer explosions or blowouts, which would be the most likely cause of the flash. To top it off, there were no weather storms in the area during the time of the flash.

“It’s a mystery to us as well. I can’t even offer a guess,” said Dough Nintzel, a spokesman for the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Oddly enough, this same sort of image was seen multiple times in 1997, dozens of people claimed to have seen lights in a V formation over Phoenix. Most of which were captured by video and all remain a mystery.
